Correct operation of heat deflectors:
1. When slowly cooking/smoking fatty dishes or a larger piece of meat/fish, always use a fat-collecting container (this will also avoid an unpleasant burning smell when they burn, extend the service life of the deflectors, and maintain cleanliness and order in the barbecue)
2. Do not wrap in foil, but only cover with it. Or, by adding several layers and folding the edges, form an improvised, disposable container
3. Every time you cook, turn the deflectors over so that the dirty side is facing the heat and burns (if the deflectors are particularly heavily covered with fat, unpleasant-smelling smoke will be produced during burning. To avoid this, follow the rule in point 1)
4. Do not handle hot deflectors with hard tongs, avoid shaking them, because they are extremely fragile when hot. Use heat-resistant gloves if necessary to remove them while still hot.
